Wildflower Walk with Berks Nature

  • Kernsville Dam Recreation Area 25 Kernsville Dam Rd Hamburg, PA, 19526 United States (map)

Join Berks Nature’s Sarah Chudnovsky at the Kerny’s Monument Parking Lot for a walk through the Kerny to learn about local wildflowers. Sarah will also be discussing the Flowers and Fauna Along the Appalachian Trail Corridor Project.

This spring, Berks Nature and the Blue Mountain Eagle Climbing Club (BMECC) are joining the Appalachian Mountain Club to track the spring wildflower bloom along the Kittatinny Ridge/Blue Mountain as part of a community science project studying climate change.
Using the phone app iNaturalist, we hope to generate thousands of observations along the Appalachian Trial Corridor, to study the impacts climate change may be having on flowering plants in the Mid-Atlantic region.
Volunteers will be needed throughout April and May!
For additional information, please reach out to Sarah Chudnovsky, Berks Nature Land Protection Specialist, at sarah.chudnovsky@berksnature.org or 610.372.4992 ext 104.
