2018 BLUE MOUNTAIN WILDLIFE TRAIL RACE SERIES
“Mad Dash” 5-Mile, 5K OR 2.5K TRAIL RACES

WHAT: A 5-Mile, 5K or 2.5K Trail Race.
The challenging 5-mile course starts at Reservoir Road just above the gate at the Parking Lot and runs two miles to the Reservoir and up to the top of the ridge, one mile along the ridge to the west and the returns the two miles to the start. Rocky trails, steep slopes, clear creeks and beautiful views of northern Berks County abound. Race length is 5 miles and change in elevation is approximately 760 feet.
The 5K course starts at Reservoir Road just above the gate at the Parking Lot and runs two loops around the Reservoir before returning to the start. Race length is 5 kilometers and change in elevation is approximately 200 feet.
The 2.5K course starts at Reservoir Road just above the gate at the Parking Lot and runs one loop around the Reservoir before returning to the start. Race length is 2.5 kilometers and change in elevation is approximately 200 feet.
This event is the second of the series of three race events and will be followed later in the year by the "Run To The Rock" 10K, 5K or 2.5K Trail Races at the Hamburg Community Park on Saturday June 23, 2018. All BMW Trail Races Series Races have great courses; registrant goodie bags; cash prizes for the fastest male and female racers in the long races and a generous slate of awards for all races; a deejay providing post-race entertainment; plenty of drinks, fruit and baked goodies to replenish the body; post-race activities for the kids; free hot lunch for all participants and volunteers; door prize drawings; and plenty of Trail Race Series and BMW gear for purchase.

Registration: 8:00 a.m. to 8:50 a.m.
Race Start: 9:00 a.m.
WHERE: Hamburg Reservoir, Windsor Township, Berks County
Directions: From the east, take I-78 to Exit 35 Lenhartsville. Turn RIGHT onto PA 143 South and continue to the traffic light in Lenhartsville. Turn RIGHT onto OLD US 22 and continue 3.1 miles west to RESERVOIR ROAD (near the St. Paul’s Lutheran Church). Turn RIGHT onto RESERVOIR ROAD and continue about 0.7 miles. Look for signs and volunteers.
From the north, south and west, travel to downtown Hamburg and take STATE STREET/OLD US 22 approximately 2.2 miles east toward Lenhartsville. Turn LEFT onto RESERVOIR ROAD (near the St. Paul’s Lutheran Church) and continue about 0.7 miles. Look for signs and volunteers.
WHO: Anyone can participate.

Prizes for the 10K Race: Individual 1st, 2nd and 3rd Place Prizes for both males and females awarded in the following age categories: 0-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59 and over 60. $25 Grand Prize for the fastest Individual male and female time will be awarded.
Prizes for the 5K Race: Individual 1st, 2nd and 3rd Place Prizes for both males and females awarded in the following age categories: 0-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59 and over 60.
Prizes for the 2K Race: Individual 1st Place Prizes for both males and females awarded in the following age categories: 0-9, 10-15, 16-32, 33-49 and over 50.
Winners must be present to collect prizes unless other arrangements are made. Prizes will not be mailed.
REGISTRATION: Register online or download and mail in registration form from our website. Online registration open until 11 PM Thursday May 14th. Pre-registration packet pick-up and Race Day registration opens at 8:00 AM and closes at 8:50 AM.
WEATHER: Races are rain or shine. Races may be postponed for a few hours only if violent weather threatens.
